They are a chance to document who you have become together - and the people you were on your wedding day are probably not quite the same people you are now. At Lens Lyric Photography, anniversary sessions are one of our favorite things to shoot. Returning to the Beginning Some couples choose to do their anniversary session at or near their wedding venue - a way of returning to the place where the story began. If your wedding was in Tucson, we know this city's venues and landscapes intimately, and we can recreate or reimagine elements of your wedding day in ways that feel meaningful rather than simply nostalgic. Other couples want something new - a location they have never photographed together, a setting that reflects who they are now rather than who they were then. Both approaches create extraordinary images. We are comfortable with either. Incorporating Cultural Traditions For couples who had South Asian weddings, anniversary sessions often become a chance to revisit the cultural elements of the wedding - a silk saree that has not been worn since the reception, jewelry that has been in a box for years, traditional clothing for children who were not yet born on the wedding day. These sessions carry particular resonance. They are simultaneously a documentation of time passed and a celebration of heritage maintained. Milestone Anniversaries First anniversary, fifth, tenth, twenty-fifth, fiftieth - milestone anniversaries deserve more than a quiet dinner.
